abandoned at infinity

Here I lay abandoned,

on the wrong side of the road,

feeling the loss of someone,

who was my light before.

Me with my tattered clothes,

a ruined smile,

and messy hair,

none of this compares,

to the chaos and hurt,

churning inside.

I am in complete despair,

remembering the days,

when we used to laugh together,

diving into her vivid imagination,

so wild and colourful,

were the adventures we experienced.

Despite the good times,

all the memories,

now that I am broken,

she has left me,

forgetting our glorious encounters,

for something more ‘grown up’.

I used to be so much more,

but now,

when people look at me,

their eyes devoid of sympathy,

there’s so much they fail to see,

to them, I am simply,

a doll,

abandoned at infinity.
