Of the ocean

Wild

Loud

Waltzing confidently

Rhythmically

Changing the colour of the sand

As they come and go

All of nature’s dance

I feel them pushing

Against my chest

Soothingly

Calmly enough

Making me aware

Of my own heartbeat pulsating in my ears

Of the tiny shifts in the water

Of the fluctuating winds ready to blow me away

I taste the tangy water

At the back of my throat

A reminder

Of everything around me

So alive

It stays with me

Even when I leave

Travelling thousands of miles away

Adrift

It accompanies me

Forever
